Joan is an accomplished procurement and supply chain professional with over 15 years of expertise in strategic acquisitions, cost optimization, and supplier relationship management. She currently serves as the Procurement Manager at Lubaga Hospital, where she has implemented procurement strategies that support growth, improve processes, and enhance operational efficiency.
Joan began her career as a Principal Officer for ICD and Warehousing at Spedag Interfreight Uganda Ltd (2002-2007), where she managed customs operations and logistics, followed by her role as a Procurement Officer for Medair International in the DR Congo (2007-2010), overseeing complex supply chain operations in challenging environments. In 2010, she joined Lubaga Hospital, first as Procurement Manager and later as Project Administrator for a Malteser International-funded physiotherapy project (2019-2023). In this capacity, Joan coordinated project activities, addressed risks, and ensured timely delivery within scope, including managing resources during the COVID-19 period.
Joan’s achievements extend to training future professionals, supervising interns, and contributing to the development of procurement guidelines that minimize risks and enhance transparency. She is also an active member of the Lubaga Hospital staff SACCO Investment Committee, where she contributed to raising member dividends through strategic investment decisions.
Academically, Joan holds an MCIPS Level 6 certification from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, a Postgraduate Diploma in Procurement and Supply Management from the Uganda Management Institute, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Logistics Management from Ndejje University.
