Justice should be a right for all, not a privilege for a few. Yet, across Uganda, countless individuals—youths, men, and women—find themselves unlawfully detained in prisons, remand homes, and police cells without the means to access legal support or a fair hearing. Left without a voice, their hopes for a future can quickly fade.
At ELOIM, we believe in standing for the voiceless. Our Access to Justice program is a critical pillar of our work, aimed at ensuring fair treatment within the justice system and providing a path toward successful reintegration into society.
How We Champion Justice:
- Intervention and Support: We collaborate with partners within the justice system to advocate for those who are unlawfully detained. We work to ensure their cases are heard and their fundamental rights are protected.
- Policy and Strategy: We actively participate in program monitoring and strategy development to help create a more inclusive and just system for everyone.
- Reintegration Programs: Our work doesn’t end upon release. We provide crucial support to help individuals reintegrate into their communities, empowering them with the tools and confidence to rebuild their lives and contribute positively to society.
By supporting our justice and reintegration programs, you are helping to restore dignity and provide a second chance to someone who has been forgotten. Stand with us in the fight for fairness and justice.
