The Genesis of Compassion in 2004

Every impactful organization has a definitive origin story, a moment when passion was converted into purpose. For Eternal Life Organization International Ministries (ELOIM), that story began in 2004 with the vision of founder Tendo Steven.

Driven by a profound belief in serving the most vulnerable, Steven began transforming lives long before the ministry was officially registered. His earliest work centered on the most pressing needs of his community: young people, widows, orphans, and destitute children. This commitment was born out of a deeply personal calling to bring hope where it was desperately needed.

Action on the Frontlines: A Holistic Approach

Steven’s team felt so blessed as they witnessed firsthand the hope and joy the children found through their work. The earliest initiatives were comprehensive, addressing the body, mind, and spirit:

  • Mobile Medical Care: Bringing essential health services directly to remote areas, addressing immediate crises.
  • Provision of Formal Education: Advocating for and facilitating access to schooling, recognizing education as the ultimate liberator.
  • Grooming and Bible Studies: Providing spiritual and moral guidance, fostering personal growth and resilience in young people.
  • Advocacy: Actively fighting for the rights of the children of Africa, ensuring their protection from harm and exploitation.

This early, holistic work—governed by love, care, and compassion—laid the foundational commitment for ELOIM. The organization was formally registered in 2009, growing from a local mission into a global organization dedicated to improving access to essential resources across all four of its core pillars: Health, Education, Justice, and Environment. With 15+ years of hope for African children under his leadership, Tendo Steven’s vision continues to drive every project we undertake.
