Uganda’s lush landscapes are under threat. Deforestation, soil erosion, and climate change are wreaking havoc on the environment, affecting both people and wildlife. At ELOI Ministries, we are committed to reversing this trend through our environmental sustainability initiatives.
The Problem: Deforestation in Uganda
Every year, Uganda loses thousands of hectares of forest cover due to illegal logging, agricultural expansion, and charcoal production. This has led to devastating consequences, including reduced rainfall, loss of biodiversity, and food insecurity.
Our Solution: Tree Planting and Community Engagement
Our environmental sustainability program focuses on:
- Tree Planting Campaigns: We organize community-led tree planting events, targeting schools, churches, and public spaces. To date, we’ve planted over 50,000 trees across Uganda.
- Sustainable Agriculture Training: We teach farmers how to practice agroforestry, integrating trees into their farming systems to improve soil fertility and crop yields.
- Environmental Education: Through workshops and school programs, we educate communities about the importance of conserving natural resources.
The Ripple Effect
By planting trees, we’re not just restoring the environment; we’re also improving livelihoods. For example, fruit trees provide food and income for families, while shade trees protect crops from extreme weather conditions.
Get Involved
You don’t have to be in Uganda to make a difference. Donate to our tree planting initiative or sponsor a community workshop. Every contribution counts toward a greener, healthier planet.
